Halloween 2016

Happy Creepy Holiday!  I was messaging with a friend and we were talking about how creepy halloween is...going up to strangers doors and asking for candy.  It's bizarre.  I could TOTALLY do without this holiday all together...but the kids love it.
~
We decided to start a tradition of having Chris' chili and cornbread for dinner.
Ry guy went as Chewbaca.
And he was excited to have face paint.
 Payton was a cowgirl.
And Dylan was an elf {same costume as here} but was being a booger while I was trying to get a photo tonight. He DID take this picture with me though. {smile}
And did you notice, Payton's wearing shorts and I'm wearing a tank top?  It was glorious!  Especially  since Halloween 2 years ago was miserably cold. And check out how LITTLE the kids look just that year! Eek!
~
I was laughing at Rylan all night.  He was such a spaz, running from house to house.  You would have thought he had downed a Red Bull and Pixie Stix...but he hadn't had any candy at that point!
My friend Darby grabbed Rylan for a photo with her crew and it's such a cute picture!
 Back home, checking out their loot!
Hope you had a great Halloween!

Week #43 {2016}

Sunday G-Funk got ready for church all by himself...and yes, we let him go to church like that!
 Monday Papa and Sasha left for Florida for a few days. Papa was happy to get some goodbye snuggles from Rylan.
 For dinner I made BAT Grilled Cheese Sandwiches....so good.
 Tuesday morning I left at 4:30am to take my parents to the airport {they are going to California for 9 days!}.  When I got home, Chris had gotten Dylan up and he sat and had some coffee with us.
 That afternoon Ry went quiet and I couldn't find him.  I was searching the house and found him fast asleep in his bed {which he NEVER takes naps!}.  Sweet boy.
 Dinner was Poblano Rigatoni.  So easy and so yummy.
 Wednesday I was chuckling at my shoes by the front door.  I need the boots for walking the kids to the bus {it was 47°} and  flip flops to pick them up in the afternoon {82°}!
 I made a HUGE batch of Zucchini Chocolate Chip Muffins/Bread for the kids afternoon snack.  I packaged up some to freeze {and throw in their lunches over the next few weeks} and loaves of bread  to have for some girlfriends coming over for coffee in the morning.
 That evening, after dropping Payton off at her cheer/tumble class, I got to go and vote early!
Thursday evening I walked to a friends house and saw this beautiful sunset.
15 minutes later the sky looked like this.  So pretty.
Friday we got to go root on Payton for her Boosterthon/Fun Run.
Rylan loved holding out the hand clapper for everyone running by.
Especially when Payton ran past.
She ran a total of 50 laps!
That evening, Rylan came down with a fever. He fell asleep after dinner.
We woke him to give him a bath and he fell back asleep.  Sweet boy.
While he slept, I finished another great book!
Saturday Payton found a bunch of raspberries on our yellow raspberry bush.  It was actually sweet!  We were pretty excited about that!
Now we can't wait for the berries next year!

Silenced {book review}

I finished the 4th book of the Alaskan Courage Series by Dani Pettrey.  Silenced is a murder mystery intermixed with a love story.
It's a great book, that I would definitely recommend. I give it 4 stars!

Week #42 {2016}

Sunday morning I got to have coffee with my mom and sisters.
#sortof
We got ready for church and I put on my new boots.  Payton ran and got on hers so we could be twinsies.  I will be enjoying this moment since teenage years are coming quick and she will NOT want to wear anything like me.
P.S. There's a perk for being short and having small feet...I can {sometimes} buy shoes in the girls section!  These boots were $20 cheaper than the exact same ones in the women's sizes! Woot Woot!
After church we went to lunch at Jack & Jamesons...
It was fantastic as usual.
Me and my girl.
 Monday I finished my favorite book I've read so far this year.  I read it in a little over 2 days.
Tuesday the big kids had dental appointments and Ry was so stoked to go and play in the car at the dentist's office.
After their appointment, I dropped them off at school and Ry and I went down to my parents.  We picked up my mom and went and checked out this cool, new boutique, Bleu 32 in the Square {Downtown Columbia}.
And we wanted to hit up The Faded Farmhouse, but it was closed.  Boo!  They did have some cool fall decor outside so we turned it into a photo op.
Back at my parents, Ry rode his bike all over their yard.  See him way down the hill?  I didn't realize what an incline their yard is and had to walk down to push him back up.  He stayed up by the house after that!
That even back at home for dinner, Ry usually likes to be right up next to me, but tonight he had to sit on my leg while he ate dinner.
Wednesday morning snuggles with my big kiddos.
A Red Robin is opening up close to us and they had a soft opening.  We got to go on a lunch date and eat for free!
Thursday morning, Ry went with us to walk Payton to the bus.  He SO wants to be a big kid and go to school...
but I am enjoying having my last baby home with me.
Thursday some girls in the neighborhood got together to have lunch {at Red 7 - holy moley, can't believe I haven't eaten here sooner! This is Spicy Thai Sauce, Mozarella Cheese, Goat Cheese, Red Onion, Red Bell Pepper.}
Then to Faded Farmhouse & Bleu 32 {yes, twice in one week!}. It was a total fun girls day out.
Friday Chris and I went on a pseudo-date to a work party in Downtown Nashville.  It was fun to get dressed up on a Friday night {since it's usually Family Movie Night at our house!}.  The party was at South Street and they had the most amazing Smokehouse Bleu Cheese Chips {homemade potato chips covered in smoked gouda queso topped with bleu cheese crumbles, crumbled bacon and chives}. I'm still dreaming about how amazing that tasted.
Saturday morning, baby girl lost one of her silver molars...she's hoping the tooth fairy pays her more for that one!
As we were running errands in the afternoon, we ran into Gigi!  It's so much fun having her close where I can run into her like this!
