Filling a Pool

Ry Guy wakes up so happy in the morning.

Payton wrote her name all by herself ("Payon" with the "n" upside down):

Papa and Sasha bought a pool for the backyard.  After 3 days of them leveling the hard Georgia clay, it was finally time to fill it up!  The kids loved stomping around in the shallow water.

Here it is half way full.

After dinner, the pool was full and they got to go back in.

He's a little excited.

Payton is very happy that she can stand in the pool, keeping her head above the water.

Rylan chilling in the shade while they got to swim.

End of the month update on my New Year's Resolution:  I am waaaaaaaay behind.  As in - I am on May 27th.  I could list excuses (having a 2 month old, going to California, lack of sleep), but those don't matter; I still need to make spending time in the Word a priority.  I will be working on that in the month of July.

Oh and this is my 500th post.  Woo hoo!  Not sure why I think that is interesting for you to know... but there it is anyway.  =)

Fun Day

We had some friends come and hang out with us at the pool today.  Of course I forgot to pull my camera out until the end.

Laura made Payton's day by helping her with her kick board.

Rylan assuming the same position (of course).
The kids got to play at the park for a few minutes.
Having fun with Ethan!
Craig and Sasha got Rylan a play gym today and we tested it out.  He kept hitting the toys with his hands but looking the opposite direction.  I am sure he will get the hang of it soon!
Here he is smiling at daddy!
I found out that Del Taco finally opened by us!!!
It is about a 30 minute drive, but SO worth it.  Tasted like home.  =)

Beer Bread {recipe}

Beer bread is perfect to serve as an appetizer hot out of the oven (with butter of course), or as a side to a meat dish, hearty chili or even a salad.  There is a light sweetness to this dense bread and in the background is a hint of beer smell.  Yes, I said smell.  I don't like the taste or flavor of beer, but the smell of beer in this recipe is WON.DER.FUL!  It tastes like beer smells.  Weird?  Probably but just go with me on this one!

So are you ready for the EASIEST and YUMMIEST Beer Bread recipe?  You need to gather these 3 ingredients (yes, only three!).

You can experiment with different beers.  I've tried a darker beer (New Castle), but I prefer a light beer for this recipe.
Mix the ingredients together and place into a greased loaf pan. And bake!  Or if you are impatient like me, split it into 2 pans and bake it for half the time.
Wa-la!  Super easy, super yummy, super tasty beer bread.  Try it - you will thank me later!

My Beer Bread

3 cups Self-Rising Flour
12 ounces Beer
1/4 cup sugar

1 - Mix ingredients together.
2 - Place into a greased 9 x 5 loaf pan.
3 - Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes (or until a toothpick comes out clean).

Also, you can brush melted butter over the top for the last 5 minutes of cooking time to give a golden crust.

If you don't have self-rising flour on hand, did you know you can make your own?  Here is the recipe to make one cup of self-rising flour:

Self-Rising Flour

1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Two Months Old

Rylan is two months old today!
He weights 12-1/2 pounds (71%) and is 23 inches in length (50%)! He smiles, giggles, coos and "talks". He also can hold up his head and push his chest up when he is on his tummy. Dylan says that he is doing his "pushups"...  He also can roll from his tummy to his back.
We love our Ry Guy!

Our Fun Thursday

I took the kids and a friend of Dylan's to the movies and saw Over the Hedge.

Over Chris' lunch break, we played some Monopoly Deal (have I told you how fun it is?). Payton grabbed the camera and took some photos of us.
Of course she gets me when I am on my phone!  Argh...I don't think I am on it that much - but maybe I am.  That is something I need to work on.

Bedtime kisses for Ry Guy!
