Happy 2nd Birthday Rylan!

My baby boy is a full blown toddler now!
Happy birthday sweet Rylan!
Your check up was today and you are:
27 lbs (53%tile)
34.5 inches tall (47%tile)
20.67 inch head circumference (waaaayyy off the chart! LOL)

Some new things you've been saying lately:
"I got it!"
"Umon" - Come on
"Darn it" {where did he get THAT one from?}
"Rydin" or "mydin" - Rylan
"Pocket"
"Buckle"
"Flower"
"Button"
"Wook it" - Look it!
"No, I don't want it."
"I want it".
"I love you."
"Costco" (see below)
"I don't like it."
"Mo-man" - snowman
"Copy" - Coffee
"Payton" instead of "Deepee" althought he calls her that every once in awhile.

You like to play "Costco", where you tell me your going to Costco and we talk about what we need from there. Then you push Payton's baby stroller to our DVD rack and put them in your cart. You return and tell me that they are out of coffee. It is so cute!

You love the movie Frozen (just like everyone else in the world). You love "mo-man" aka Olaf and have learned the songs from Dylan and Payton.

Your top 2 eye teeth came in this past month.

At nap time we read "Llama Llama Nighty Nite" and you LOVE it. You try to read it with me and it makes me melt.

You are proficient at climbing  in and out of your high chair, and the shopping cart. It freaks people out all the time.

Turning 2, marks an end to the baby stage in our family. It is definitely bittersweet. I want to hold on to all those great memories and sweet moments. The late night and early morning snuggles especially.  But I'm excited to see each of my babies grow into the young men and young lady God wants them to be.

Easter & Diabetes

I guess those 2 can kinda go together, right?
Easter Sunday started out great. The kids woke up happy and excited to open there Easter baskets.
Here they are opening the ones from Papa & Sasha.
Fortunately Papa and Sasha were there,
because Chris and I took off and headed to the ER.
Chris has been not feeling well for a few months.
And we found out exactly what Chris had suspected, he has Type 2 Diabetes.
We were happy he wasn't admitted into the hospital, but we spent 7 hours there.
So, not great news, but that's okay, we just have to change some (actually, a lot of) things and keep moving forward with God's grace.
When he was released, we headed straight home (Thank you Papa & Sasha for watching the kids!) to do an egg hunt with these cuties.
So this Easter wasn't the best one. It wasn't what I had planned, but you know what? At Easter we celebrate Jesus being alive and risen from the grave. And because of that, I look forward to eternity in heaven with my Savior. I'm going to be there and so is Chris. We will have perfect bodies that don't break down and don't get sick. What a glorious time that will be.  Praise God. My hope is in Him!

Now, off to research and learn all about diabetes!

Weekend With Papa and Sasha & Rylan's Birthday Party

Papa & Sasha came up for Easter this weekend, and to celebrate Rylan's birthday.
We pick up the kids from the bus then took them to a park.
Ry learned a new trick and was showing off.
Good Friday we went to Winstead Hill where the Battle of Franklin took place during the Civil War.
Rylan learned how to say "sandwich". and no, he's not saying "d@$? it". LOL!
We made a fun Easyer craft (thanks to Pinterest).
And the kids figured out that sleeping bags make sliding down the stairs even more fun.
And make you go faster.
All ready for . . .
his birthday party . . .
at Chuck E. Cheese!
The big kids didn't seem to mind that we were at Chuck E. Cheese.
Skee ball is Rylan's favorite thing there. I don't think he played anything else.
Of course he has his own way of playing and since it was his birthday party, I let him.
Big winner!
Lunch at McAllister's Deli.
Then cake time back at home.
He quickly learned how to open presents.
And ask for he next one.
We got him a balance bike and he seemed to like it.
It was such a fun day, Ry fell asleep in Sasha's (Yaya's) arms.

Week With My Momma {Part 3}

Here are the stages of pouting for Rylan.
(All because I wouldn't give him "Pepsi".)
~
I love waking up and hanging out with my momma.
All ready to go!
I love finding these kinds of photos on my phone.
We went to Dylan's favorite restaurant . . . Olive Garden!
Yes, Ry is eating a pepperconi - crazy guy!
We attempted to make homemade pretzels (which ended up being a flop, but it was fun to do!).
Reading time.
The kids got to have Squishy Baffs! (The best Dollar Tree purchase ever.) It turns water into goo. See it on Rylan's back?
Next time I will put it in a wading pool outside so they can all play in it together.
~
Then we got to celebrate Gigi's 70th birthday. Happy birthday mom!
Then it was time to celebrate Rylan's birthday (he turns 2 on the 22nd!).
Then of course Easter.
All 3 parties rolled into one!
Payton crashed out after all the partying!
I took mom to Lovelesss Cafe, and yes, she is on her phone . . . crazy kid.
We made one last stop for a Chick-fil-A lemonade (she had never had one before!).
Then is was time to drop her at the airport.
Goodbyes stink. Truly stink.
Gigi left some small candy under the kids pillows. They were SO excited to find them.
Thanks Gigi for coming out to visit us. We loved being able to celebrate your birthday with you. We already miss you!
