The Magnolia Story {book review}

As soon as I finished Bittersweet, I started in on The Magnolia Story and couldn't put it down.  I read it in under 2 days.  I love Fixer Upper {like everyone else in the world} and this book didn't disappoint.  As I was reading, I kept telling Chris, "Hey did you know...".
So if your a fan of Chip and Joanna, definitely take the time to read this book.
I give this book 5+ stars!

Week #25 {2017} - VBS & Summer Camp

Sunday was Father's Day.
Monday morning Bombi, was being cute.
Then VBS started for the littles!
Tuesday they had such a great time yesterday that they couldn't wait to go back.
Dylan and I went to my momma's house and I got to see the Allen's, some long time friends of the family.  My parents went to college with Lorn's parents and they had spent the night at my mom's while on a road trip.
Once they left, we showed Gigi how to use her lawn mower. {I think she likes it!}
That evening she met up with us at the ball field to watch Payton's game.
It was a beautiful evening!
P's team won, and we got to hug Gigi because she leaves for AFRICA tomorrow!
AND Dylan leaves for Summer Camp tomorrow too! {Funny story about this picture...  The next day I asked Rylan if he missed Dylan.  He said "Did you not see the picture of me nuggling him?" all while giving me the "duh mom" look.}
Wednesday morning I woke up and Dylan was already packed, dressed and ready to go.  {I guess he was a little excited about camp.}
I said goodbye to my boy as Chris took him to the busses.
I dropped the littles off at VBS...
And then I had an empty car and THREE WHOLE hours to myself!
What did I do with those hours?  Tons of fun stuff like folding laundry, emptying the dishwasher, etc. #momlife
It was very nice, because when I cleaned up something, it stayed clean for those few hours. But I was sure happy to pick this little guy up. {I pick him up at noon and Payton stays for an extended class until 3 pm}.
My sister, Jeannine, sent my other sister {Davese} and I these adorable trinket dishes.  We both joked that we knew we were the favorite sister.
I put in on my nightstand to hold my earrings.  Thanks J!
What a beautiful sunset God gave us that evening.
Thursday morning, Payton had struck again.  Poor buddy.
I was hanging up laundry to air dry and had to laugh...  Although I don't have as many tank tops as I had 5 years ago,  I guess my love for them still runs deep...especially in the color blue.
Since all the kiddos were gone, and Chris wasn't working from home today, Bombi was my shadow.  He followed me everywhere.
Rylan brought home this snack mix from VBS and I thought it was adorable and easy way to share the story of Jesus with little ones!
Since Payton was at VBS, Ry and I played Sequence for Kids.
This is the view at the end of our driveway.  We love seeing the cows grazing...maybe we will have our own cow(s) someday.
VBS wiped this girl out.  She asked to snuggle with me when we got home.
Rylan found Dylan's Electronic Snap Circuits and built his own light thing.  He was so proud of himself.
At dinnertime I looked over and saw Bombi sleeping like this.  He has issues I tell ya!
So when I registered the kids for VBS they asked about allergies.  I put down that Rylan was allergic to amoxicillin (yes, looking back, I realize I didn't need to put it down), so he wore an "A" sticker on his name tag to alert everyone that he had an allergy.  Well he came to me in tears because when they asked him what he was allergic to and he said amoxicillin, they think he is saying "a monster villain".    Isn't that the cutest???
~
Friday morning, was too hot for coffee.  So I made myself an iced coffee.
Then as we were leaving, we noticed a huge tree branch fell across our driveway and broke our fence {boo!}.  Guess the storm last night was stronger than we thought!
Last day of VBS!
When I picked Rylan up, he brought all his crafts home.  He loved VBS and can't wait to go next year!
Chris had to meet one of his clients at his store which just happens to be a carniceria...and he gave all of this food to Chris to take home.  Needless to say we ate REAL GOOD that night!
Saturday morning, I woke up early to finish this book.  It was so good.  I highly recommend it!
Then we went to the dump.  Although muddy from all the rain - it still is the prettiest dump I have ever seen.  See all the hay rolls?
Then it was time to pick up Dylan!!!!  While we were waiting at the church, his buddy Nico sent us this pic.
My buddy is home!!!
All is right in the world again.
He had an amazing time {see this post}, and brought me home this necklace that he bought for me.  #sweetboy
Payton and Rylan had left welcome home notes on his door.
And Rylan would not let Dylan go.
He sure missed his big brother.
Aaaannnndddd he even let Payton give him a hug.
I love my sweet girl.
Carl {and family} came over with his new chainsaw and helped us chop up the tree that fell.
It took a total of 30 seconds and now Chris wants a chainsaw.  {smile}
We ate dinner {carne asada cause we still have a TON} and then watched the beautiful sunset.
We are so thankful for the Schmidt family!
