Weekend Wrap-up {Football Party}

You know it's going to be a great weekend when this is what you wake up to Saturday morning.
And since it was this cold:
The kids decided to make some crafts . . .
while Chris (my amazing husband) did this:
Then we busted out Just Dance 4.
We got a little stir crazy from being in the house and hit up Tito's for some yummy yum yum nachos. Yeah, we devoured them.
I told you we were stir crazy! And yes, Payton is wearing flip flops. She's nuts!
Back at home, Chris made the kids Butterbeer, a perfect drink to get into the holiday mood.
And little man crashed while hanging out with daddy.
I busted out my Snoozies Ballet Slippers that my sis {Davese} got me last year. They are Sherpa lined and  keep my feet amazingly toasty!
Brothers. I love watching their relationship.
This boy.
Dylan's end of the year football party started with the boys playing football of course!
Then the coach took them on a hayride. Doesn't every coach have a John Deer tractor and trailer? {Wink}
{Most of} the team.
Happy boy.
The sisters got to go too.
And as they were driving away, it started to sprinkle.
And they came back soaked and freezing.
But they still had a great time. And guess what?!?! The coach prayed before we ate. Everyone bowed their head and all the kids were quiet and respectful . . . I love living in the South!

Final Football Game of the Season

We had an early morning frost a couple of days ago that killed my tomato bushes.
It was so sad.
But I was able to pick all of these before pulling the plants.
And, since I don't care for fried green tomatoes, I posted on our local Facebook page that people could come and get free tomatoes (I placed in a box out front). They slowly disappeared and one lady even posted a thank you and a picture of the fried green tomatoes she made with them! Isn't technology {and small towns} amazing???
We had round 2 of playoffs for football and the kids were so amped about it. See?
It WAS an hour away and I would have wanted to fall asleep too.
~
Pep talk from daddy.
I think he's adorable.
It was a fun game, some awesome plays, but in the end we lost. The next game would have been the championship game at the Vanderbilt Stadium.
Dylan walked off the field crying. My heart broke for him and I started tearing up too.
Amazing how a mommy heart does that.
~
Funny story - Payton started sobbing too. Like uncontrollable sobbing. People were whispering how cute she was that she was so sad. I just smiled at them and held her close. Payton's friend ran up and asked her why she was crying and Payton replied "We lost!". When Olivia, her friend, tried to console her, Payton blurted out " No, I wanted to be on TV!" and continued sobbing. The championship game was going to be televised and I guess she will miss her opportunity to be famous! LOL!
~
A friend captured this pic of Rylan at a football game a couple of weeks ago. I love it.
We ended the weekend snuggling up watching a family movie!
It was a fun weekend. I'm sorry that the football season is over. It was a ton of fun . . . even the long, cold practices {smile}.

Weekend Wrap-Up {Freezing Playoff Game}

Saturday morning started with the kids pouring over the Target toy ad, circling what they want for Christmas. I guess some things DON'T change over the years!
We had Round 1 of Playoffs that afternoon at 1 pm.
Do we look overdressed for an afternoon football game?
Cause we aren't.
I could have used another 10 layers at least. Plus an electric blanket and a space heater. Brrrr!
Little man stayed in my lap snuggling most of the time.
The cheerleaders . . . Only 2 showed up to the game and they still got out there and cheered their little hearts out. What, you can't see them in this picture?
Here, I'll zoom in. All bundled up and doing awesome.
The sun came out a bit and Rylan went to pick me some "bowers". Payton joined in too.
Oh and the boys played amazing. We won 26-6. Round 2 of the Playoffs, here me come! {Just can it be a teeny bit warmer next game, God? Pretty pretty please?}
Sunday we woke up to our first frost of the season.
That was okay with me because Payton had woke up last night throwing up {and no, I'm not even kidding - all sickness needs to go away from our house already!!!} and I was fine to stay home out of the cold.
But a time change + staying indoors all day + missing his nap, does not bode well for Rylan. While I was loading the dishwasher, he was being exceptionally quiet. I found him hiding out in Dylan's room doing this.
Then while I was taking all the stickers down he went and ransacked our bedroom. {Chris is repainting our furniture which is why our mattresses are on the floor - FYI.}
Needless to say, he crashed out quickly.
Now I'm just praying he stays asleep all night {and Payton doesn't throw up again}!

Weekend Wrap-Up {PumpkinFest & Football}

We went to PumpkinFest.
In Downtown Franklin.
Saw the "Canjo" Guy. (He makes banjos out of cans.)
Witnessed some adorable brotherly love.
Ran into some friends from football.
Posed with Frankenstein.
Got greetings from the Peppermint Fairy.
Went in a bounce house.
And then another one (over and over again).
Then went to football (Dylan was captain this game!).
Ry colored.
His teddy bear.
We won the game and made it into playoffs!
~
Saw an amazing sky.
Looked at some BEAUTIFUL land.
Played on some hay.
Ended up BACK at the doctors for a UTI (poor girl).
And doodled while we waited.
Top left: "Rpunzl"
Bottom left: "Elfint"
Bottom right: "Free Birds Goblllllllllll" (a turkey with a million legs)
~
Then later played an impromptu game of family dodge ball. There was 5 of us, 15 balls and TONS of laughing. Oh and Chris may or may not have ended up flat on his face because of a miss step. To which I may or may not have had to run to the potty to avoid peeing my pants from laughter... It was AWESOME. (Ry took this pic mid game).

What a fun weekend we had! I love these great fall weekends.
