Bears, Testing, Ham & A Bed

It was a crazy busy {but awesome} day. Ready for a bunch of pictures??? Here we go!
Bears - thanks to Pinterest I made these adorable bears for the kids for breakfast. They were so VERY easy to make, the kids loved them and they were really healthy!
Testing - Today was a big day because Dylan tested for his BLACK BELT.
{awards ceremony is next week!}
While we were waiting at the testing, we took these pics.
Ham - After the testing we headed to the Country Ham Festival.
It was super cold, but we still got food,
and while we ate it started to drizzle.
The littles went on some bounce houses while Dyl went on the zipline.
It was so empty compared to last year.
The drizzle got heavier and we finally bailed. It was just too cold.
A Bed - Once we warmed up back at home Chris got to work building Rylan's bed.
I married a stud.
To say Rylan was happy with his bed would be an understatement.
Dylan helped Chris make the bed and was super proud of their work.
Checking it out for the first time.
He loves it and wants to paint it orange {because of Michangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles}.
A little bit later I walked in to find him making a bed for his animals and Payton's babies.
He was more than ready at bedtime to climb up and be tucked in for bed.
And then quickly fell asleep.

Thursday & Friday

Thursday my in-laws were coming up to stay for the weekend . . .
So I cleaned up the apartment and then had to take pictures of how good it looked.  =)

If you look closely in the crib, you will see Rylan.

"What's he doing?" you ask?  Oh, just some downward dogs before naptime.

Crazy guy.
~
There is a Race for the Cure coming up this Saturday by Chris' work.
I had to snap a picture of all the cases of water bottles sitting on the side of the road.

They will be sitting there for 2 more days . . . and probably NONE of them will be stolen.
{That would NEVER happen back home in California.}
~
We went to the kids Parent Teacher Conferences and Payton's teacher showed us the FUNNIEST thing ever.
She was telling us that Payton spells phonetically, really well and then showed us this picture she took of one of Payton's papers.

It says "I hear with my ears.  I can hear ______".
Payton wrote "sex".
She called Payton up and asked what she wrote and Payton replied "snakes".
She had phonetically wrote "snex" and forgot the "n".
Makes sense, now right?
And yes, she took a picture to show all of her co-workers and friends.
=)

Friday while the kids were at school and Chris was at work Craig, Sasha, Rylan and I went driving around and looking at different areas then went to Trader Joe's (about 20 minutes away from me).

I was happy to find out that it is HUGE!

It's the biggest Trader Joe's that I have ever been into . . .  Which was a good thing because it was crowded!

Seriously, can he get any more scrumptious?

~
I've seen this trick all over Pinterest, and guess what?  It really works!

Place a wooden spoon over a boiling pot of water and it won't overflow.
It looks like it might, but it doesn't.
This is going to help me out SO much.
~
Rylan LOVED J's Mac & Cheese.

Notice his knees are tucked up to his chest?

Moving Week Part 2

I wanted to give Dylan's and Payton's teachers a little thank you gift.
Here's what I was able to put together with the resources that I had and the idea thanks to Pinterest!

Ry fell asleep holding onto my arm.  So sweet.

I saw this picture online somewhere...

I need to get it and hang it on my wall to ALWAYS remember this.
~
Dylan's room, all cleaned out.

It looks so weird . . . and sounded so hollow.
~
Friday morning, the movers showed up and loaded the truck!

When the kids got off the bus (on their last day at their school!), our sweet bus driver, Ms. LeeAnn, got off the bus to take pictures with the kids and to give us good-bye gifts.
Candy for the kids and she MADE me an adorable cloth basket and homemade/homegrown fig jam.

There will NEVER be a bus driver that compares to her.
Then we said goodbye to the triplets, Dylan's best buddies in the neighborhood.

All packed up and ready to head out!

We had to make one quick stop at the kids school and Payton's teacher came out to the car to hug her once again and say goodbye.

Payton LOVED having Mrs. Sanders!

We made it to Tennessee and were welcomed with a beautiful sunset.
The kids seemed excited about the (empty) apartment.

Saturday it was unloading time!

California {Day 10 & 11}

June 20, 2013
I finally finished my New Years Resolution from 2012 today.
So it took me a year and a half.  Woops!

Kenzi came over and curled Payton's hair.  It was so pretty.

Then we went to Olive Garden to see my nephew, Geoff (top right).

We were surprised when Shawn showed up (with Davese, Kenzi & Priscilla).
Shawn had been around our family for years.
We hadn't seen him in a while as he is in the Navy and has been deployed on a submarine for a LONG time.
He is such a great guy and we were stoked to see him!

Afterwards we went back to the Orange Circle.
(Rylan has a new trick - he sticks his whole hand in his mouth and gags himself making himself throw up.  We had to leave early on Tuesday because we ran out of clean clothes for him.  Sorry if that is TMI.)
Then that evening we went to Downtown Disney.
Tried on hats and Perry the Platypus gear.
Went to the Lego Store (Dylan was so geeked out - see bottom right pic).
And just people watched.  There were SO many people there.
{Once again - crazy!}
Then we went to the top of the parking structure to watch Disneyland's nightly fireworks!
(See I told you . . . Dylan and Penelope are best buds!)
June 21, 2013
I love that my boys love each other.
Helping Gigi fill their vending machines.
My parents own and service some vending machines in their area.
Lunch at The Old Spaghetti Factory.
Yum!
We grew green onions in a glass of water.
I saw it on Pinterest and it actually worked!
Rylan learned how to crawl on top of the dining room table.
And D-man had such a loose tooth . . .
That he actually pulled it out himself!
