Week With My Momma {Part 1}

We picked Gigi up from the airport.
I think Rylan was a bit confused since we (usually) only get to see her on FaceTime.
Rylan showed of his stair sliding skills:

We took the kids to the school bus.
We went antique shopping.
Ry got bored.
We ate at Jack of Hearts.
Ry found something fun to do at our table.
We ate breakfast at Cracker Barrel.
(As I was taking the above picture, Rylan was saying, "Me, me". I looked at him, and he leaned over and said "Cheeeeeese!"
We went shopping at WalMart.
To get flowers to make a planter out of a broken water fountain that we found in our yard.
We tasted tested Nutella, Hershey's Spread, and Hot Buttered Rum Sauce. Yum!
Rylan really wanted some Pepsi.

The kids got new jammies from Gigi.
And we hung out chatting in our jammies.
{Stay tuned for more to come!}

Thursday & Friday

Thursday my in-laws were coming up to stay for the weekend . . .
So I cleaned up the apartment and then had to take pictures of how good it looked.  =)

If you look closely in the crib, you will see Rylan.

"What's he doing?" you ask?  Oh, just some downward dogs before naptime.

Crazy guy.
~
There is a Race for the Cure coming up this Saturday by Chris' work.
I had to snap a picture of all the cases of water bottles sitting on the side of the road.

They will be sitting there for 2 more days . . . and probably NONE of them will be stolen.
{That would NEVER happen back home in California.}
~
We went to the kids Parent Teacher Conferences and Payton's teacher showed us the FUNNIEST thing ever.
She was telling us that Payton spells phonetically, really well and then showed us this picture she took of one of Payton's papers.

It says "I hear with my ears.  I can hear ______".
Payton wrote "sex".
She called Payton up and asked what she wrote and Payton replied "snakes".
She had phonetically wrote "snex" and forgot the "n".
Makes sense, now right?
And yes, she took a picture to show all of her co-workers and friends.
=)

Friday while the kids were at school and Chris was at work Craig, Sasha, Rylan and I went driving around and looking at different areas then went to Trader Joe's (about 20 minutes away from me).

I was happy to find out that it is HUGE!

It's the biggest Trader Joe's that I have ever been into . . .  Which was a good thing because it was crowded!

Seriously, can he get any more scrumptious?

~
I've seen this trick all over Pinterest, and guess what?  It really works!

Place a wooden spoon over a boiling pot of water and it won't overflow.
It looks like it might, but it doesn't.
This is going to help me out SO much.
~
Rylan LOVED J's Mac & Cheese.

Notice his knees are tucked up to his chest?

Happy Hump Day

Here's a quick look at to what we've done this week so far.
Played with the water table.
I didn't think my older kids would like it as much as Rylan, but they do!

They were dunking their heads into the water and wouldn't you know it . . .
Payton was going down and Dylan was coming up and bam.

Payton got a pretty bump on her forehead.
Dylan got put in a time out (not for the head bump but for something unrelated)
and Rylan went right over and sat in a time out with him.
As you can see, he looks up to his big brother so much!

We drove to Dawsonville to the North Georgia Outlets.

Payton did not want to be there.

But we got to see this cool moth.
It was the size of my palm.

We got Ry a sucker since he was stuck in his stroller and he loved it.
Have you ever had a Smarties sucker?
My friend Kristine introduced me to them and they are GREAT because they don't get as sticky as regular lollypops and are super easy to clean up!

When Rylan is tired, he plays with his hair . . .
the same spot . . .
every time . . .
It is so cute!

I had my first Magnum bar and I wasn't impressed.
Thankfully I only paid $2 for the box (I bought it on sale and used a coupon)!

California {Day 1}

June 11, 2013
First day of vacation . . . of course you should have snow cones for breakfast!

One of the best parts of jet lag?
Getting to snuggle with this little cutie.

So fun waking up and getting to see this beautiful lady, Gigi.
I've heard that Gigi (GG) stands for "gorgeous grandma" and it is true for her!

On the go.

We are so excited!!!

To sit in traffic (at 10:30am)!  {smile}

Our first stop?  Target.
But not any Target . . . this is a 2 story Target.
You park on the first level and the whole store is on the second level.

The cool part was the cart elevator.

Then it was to Auntie D's house to say hello.

My niece, Kenzi, played the piano for me.
Songs from Les Miserable.
She is so talented.

Auntie was getting in a year of missed kisses and hugs.

Me and my sis!

Kenzi and I FaceTime-ing (is that a word?) with my sister and niece (one of them) in Colorado.
They came in a few days later.

Auntie wanted to get in good with Ry Guy.
So she gave him a licorice.

Back at home, Savanna (my niece) came over for dinner and to see us.

Rylan got very efficient on the slide.

Probably thought he was a big boy.

Then of course it was dress up time.

Dylan wouldn't let me take a picture of him.
But Ry didn't have a choice.

Day #1 done!
