Myrtle Beach {Part IV} & The Rest of our Weekend

Friday morning we woke up, packed everything up and headed out for our 10.5 hour drive. Thank goodness for a DVD player!
Papa and Sasha headed back to Georgia and left right around the same time as us. We stopped for gas and about an hour into our drive we passed them on the highway. Crazy!
It was gloomy leaving South Carolina.
But we got an awesome parting gift from that lovely state . . . A speeding ticket. {laughing but not really laughing}
The tree lined highways are beautiful.
We stopped off at a rest stop in North Carolina for a potty break.
I'm so glad that I packed these dry erase books.
They kept Ry happy for hours! And he surprised me when I went to hand him the Things That Go book, he said "No momma, the ABC one" #smartkid
I'm also glad I packed a baking sheet. Payton used it for assembling puzzles and also playing with her magnet dress up doll set. (Nice photobomb Dylan!)
Driving through the Smokies was gorgeous!
I guess Payton was working on her loose tooth all the way home, because first thing I has to do when we got there, was pull her tooth.
Before and after, 2 teeth gone!
Sweet, sick boy, propped up in the corner of the couch holding his beloved "Bit-bit" (blanket).
Here's the note Payton left for the Tooth Fairy. (Man, it is hard to disguise your handwriting!)
We took Chris to have his first Sonic Slush (they have Spenda flavors!).
And then a transformer blew on our street and we were without power for a little over an hour. The kids decided to teach Rylan how to play Uno Attack.
Shhhh, don't tell him that he's supposed to be a baby!
~
Sunday we just hung out and did stuff around the house. Chris is almost done with our living room furniture makeover! Pictures to come!!!
It was so nice to have 2 days to slowly get back to normal before Chris has to go back to work.
Vacation is awesome.

Myrtle Beach {Part III}

Heading back to the beach on the shuttle.
I could have posted a million pictures like this. It was awesome.
I think I've pushed my limit with Chris and taking pictures , LOL!
My boys!
Look at that tan line!
Bath time!
He FINALLY took a nap!
My babies!
In the middle of the night, Ry got to coughing, the nasty croup kind. Poor baby.
In the morning, he slept-in for a long time and I kept checking on him. (Notice his feet are hanging off the bed!)
A storm had rolled in that night too, and we woke up to this view:
And to this amazing show:
Little man was not 100%.
We headed to the Boardwalk (and Rylan would NOT stay in his stroller).
I love this picture.
The boardwalk felt a LOT like being at the Balboa Fun Zone, but MAN was it humid (because of the storm)!
Ry was walking with his hands in his pockets. Cute, right?
We {very} quickly realized that the Boardwalk was quite the seedy place.
So we quickly left making only 2 stops:
a store called I Love Sugar:
(Notice the big chandelier ball? It was made of gummy bears hanging from the ceiling. And that back wall is all candy dispensers.)
And then to take a photo with Optimus Prime.
On the way back to the hotel we went by Myrtle Manor. I've never seen (or heard of) the tv show, but the gaudiness of the trailer park was awesome.
The sun came out for awhile so we booked it to the beach for one last time on this trip.
Ry was still not feeling well and it got super windy,
so we said goodbye to the beach. {tear}
Payton had me do her hair like her Elsa doll.
Ry loves himself some "Tiger Hood" (Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood) and he watched this a lot back at the hotel.
Part IV coming up next!

Myrtle Beach {Part II}

{Yay! This is my 1,000th post!}
Rise and shine! It's another day of vacation!
Father-son conversations.
They really are best buds.
Ry walked out sporting this awesome outfit.
Ready for beach day #2!
Yup, it's still beautiful!
I didn't edit this pic of Chris and me. That is really how beautiful the sky is.
He played like this for HOURS.
I could TOTALLY get used to this.
Back to the hotel and all clean!
Driving around hoping that Ry will fall asleep (which he didn't).
Back at the hotel to play cornhole.
Papa beat me real good.
Then we walked around the hotel property.
One side of the property had a little marina.
Another father-son conversation.
It got a bit windy!
Our view from our front door.
I love him.
At breakfast the next morning.
Look what I ordered! French toast stuffed with vanilla bean cream cheese. Yum!
Then we rented a pontoon boat for a little while.
I think it's safe to say that Rylan LOVED it.
Me and Pirate Papa!
We stopped for a sec and let the big kids jump in.
We went to the pool back at the hotel.
Ry was refusing to take a nap again today. So at 7:30pm, we found him like this:
O-U-T out!
Part III coming soon!
