Halloween 2014

Yaya {my mother-in-law} sent a video to Rylan and he watched it OVER and OVER and OVER again. Too cute!
Pumpkin carving time.
Ready to go trick-or-treating!
Freezing our buns off! It was 41° with a RealFeel® of 31° - Brrrr!
The kids didn't seem to mind though.
And now the sugar crash.  =)

Week in Review {Spirit Week & the Zoo}

This little boy slays me. He's been doing this pose thing for awhile now. {hand on hip, other hand pointing while he's telling me somethin.} I'm glad I got this picture.
Oh and this hat was all his idea. He grabbed it as we were leaving the house and he put it on backwards.
Left: "Momma, I'm ready to go to the school bus!" {oh reeeaaaally?}
Right: He's still a baby boy who falls asleep in the car. So sweet.
The kids school had Spirit Week this week. This day was Super Hero Shirt day. {When did my babies get to be so big?}
Then there was Wacky Wednesday.
They both wanted to go the mustache route. But Dylan wanted to be like the Monopoly man.
Then MY favorite day of the week was Too Tired Thursday (Pajama Day).
Ry and I headed to the zoo to meet up with some "biends" {friends as Rylan calls them}
If you ask him about it, he would tell you that he saw "the monkeys and the down deep" {elephants} Click {here} to see the original video of the "down deeps".
This is the zoo in the fall. Breathtaking!
Watching the giraffes.
The zoo pooped him out!

Bus Driver Appreciation Week {Gift Ideas}

The kids bus driver's name is Mr. T. Awesome right? Obviously it's a nickname but he is a GREAT guy. Last week was bus driver appreciation week and here's what I gave him:
Monday - A cold bottle if water with a Via packet and a note of thanks.
Tuesday - A homemade banana muffin.
Wednesday - Homemade trail mix.
I packaged it just like the banana muffin.
Thursday - A mug with hot cocoa packets in it.
Friday a thank you card from me and drawings from Dylan & Payton.
Just small tokens of appreciation to let him know how thankful I am for him. Especially on the days when I don't have to wake Rylan from a nap to go and get them from school. Thanks Mr. T!

Weekend Wrap-Up {PumpkinFest & Football}

We went to PumpkinFest.
In Downtown Franklin.
Saw the "Canjo" Guy. (He makes banjos out of cans.)
Witnessed some adorable brotherly love.
Ran into some friends from football.
Posed with Frankenstein.
Got greetings from the Peppermint Fairy.
Went in a bounce house.
And then another one (over and over again).
Then went to football (Dylan was captain this game!).
Ry colored.
His teddy bear.
We won the game and made it into playoffs!
~
Saw an amazing sky.
Looked at some BEAUTIFUL land.
Played on some hay.
Ended up BACK at the doctors for a UTI (poor girl).
And doodled while we waited.
Top left: "Rpunzl"
Bottom left: "Elfint"
Bottom right: "Free Birds Goblllllllllll" (a turkey with a million legs)
~
Then later played an impromptu game of family dodge ball. There was 5 of us, 15 balls and TONS of laughing. Oh and Chris may or may not have ended up flat on his face because of a miss step. To which I may or may not have had to run to the potty to avoid peeing my pants from laughter... It was AWESOME. (Ry took this pic mid game).

What a fun weekend we had! I love these great fall weekends.

Week in Review {Trunk or Treat}

Know what's missing on Pinterest? A rating system or comment section for recipes. Sometimes a recipe will be a-maz-ing, sometimes it's yucky, and sometimes it's so-so. This was a so-so recipe.
It was titled French Onion Soup Casserole. I LOVE French Onion Soup and when it said "casserole"
I just assumed that it would be more hearty. But all it was was soup in a pan. As a soup it was good, but since I was expecting more, I was disappointed.
The kids celebrated their 50th day of school on Tuesday.
Rylan and I took daddy to lunch while we were up in Franklin running errands.
This guy emptied all the silverware for me and got it 99% right! Guess who is being added to our chore chart?!?!
Payton had another dentist appointment and her and Ry RAN into the office to play on the VW Bus in the waiting room.
I met a neighbor at the park and was shocked to find that the sandbox had tons of trucks/cars there for anyone to use. No one steals them. Isn't that wonderful!?!?!
Ry had a great time playing there.
Lining up drinks on coasters.
Every Thursday we hear the trash truck coming and run outside to watch and wave hello.
When returning from walking the kids to the bus stop, I realized that Payton had left the garage door open, which had let a bird into the house.
Ry thought it was hilarious and laughed at me trying to get it out of the house.
~
Rylan has really been into with his pretend food lately. I was surprised that he knew the names of most of them. He calls the strawberry "fruit", the banana "ban-a", and the twisted breadstick "happy birthday" (he thinks it's a candle).
We went to Dylan's football practice . . .
Saw this beautiful sunset . . .
And freezed our buns off. The temp said it was 59°, but I'm calling shenanigans. It felt like 40°. Next week I'm wearing a parka.
At nap time Ry said, "Mama, I want boo bear and Winnie the Poop." I may have let out a giggle-snort.
While I thought he was napping, I made these oh so tasty muffins.
But he was so excited that Papa & Sasha were coming up for the weekend he didn't fall asleep. So instead we went outside to wait for D & P to get off the bus.
When daddy got home it was time to get into their costumes. We have Jake from Jake & the Neverland Pirates.
Merida from Brave.
And Falcon from Captain America Winter Soldier.
And headed to Truck or Treat at their school.
Here Dyl & Ry are at their principal's trunk playing table football to get candy. And P was tossing a (plastic) tarantula into a cauldron to get candy.
The coolest thing was that Walgreen's was there taking pics and printing them out right there for us to take home.
How cool is that?!?!
