I know, it's ground breaking! I should write a "How to" book. I bet it would be a best seller!
We started the potty training process in the end of July last year.
You can read about it {here}. And he did great. But any time I put a Pull-Up, a diaper, or underwear on him, he would have an accident. SO we ended up putting on a Pull-Up when we went out of the house, a diaper for bedtime, and he went commando when we were at home.
And that worked for us for awhile, but I was still changing a lot of diapers and recently he was holding in his #2 until he had a diaper on.
Fast forward to January, and he woke up one Tuesday morning and I realized I had forgotten to put a diaper on him . . . and he was dry. So I decided to try again. We were heading to mom2mom, so I packed his bag with lots of extra clothes, and off we went. He did great in class, but had an accident on the way home {cleaning car seats is NOT my favorite thing to do. Why do they make them SO VERY difficult to get the covers off?}. But guess what. He hasn't had an accident since! I still put a diaper on him when he sleeps, because I expect that to take awhile. But even those will be dry sometimes when he wakes up! I haven't had to change a poopy diaper either, so I'm calling it a success! And it took just 6 months!
Now the next step is to get him to stop going commando and actually wear the cute undies I bought him.
P.S. And in addition to becoming an author, I think I'll try to be a comedian too. =)
