Football/Cheer Weekend Wrap-Up

Chris had to work Saturday {boo!} so it was just me and the kids for the day.
While waiting for Dylan's football game to start, Ry ran across this bridge over and over and over again.
Check out that RealFeel®!
At least it's not snowing . . . can I get an Amen?
~
Payton cheered her little heart out.
Dylan is so cute in uniform.
Cute patootie stayed close by. Like his sweaty hair?
There's Dylan! Go #9!

"Hawks are what? Red hot!"
Finally in the car with the air conditioning on FULL BLAST.
Then we went to IHOP.
That night while watching a tv, Dylan brought me a glass of sparkling water with a "ditch" {dash} of lemon juice. He knows the way to his momma's heart. Sweet boy!
Crazy "nuggle" {snuggle} time!
Look what I caught Dylan doing . . . cleaning the sink without even being asked!
I have officially lived in the South for too long {and yes, I've said that 5+ times before} . . . I'm actually watching football. Next it's going to be college football!

Weekend Wrap-Up {1st game of the season}

Saturday was the 1st official game of the season. Payton was super excited to cheer at her first game. Their uniforms hadn't come in yet, so she wore her practice uniform to the game.
Check out the "RealFeel®" temp. Holy moley it was a hot one!
While we waited for the game to start, Sparkie came and visited us. We passed him back and forth . . . it's so bizarre!
The football team finally got their uniforms in. Dylan is number 9.
Payton is the second in from the left.
The girls were so cute!
Did I mention it was hot? How hot was it? Check out Payton's face!
Shortly after I took that pic, the thunder started rumbling and then lightning struck. The game was called (a draw) and we headed out. Isn't the sky ominous?
We ended the day eating at Mac's Grub Shak for dinner.
Sunday after church we went to the pool for a couple of hours. The kids got to show Chris all the tricks they learned this summer and all the progress Payton has made with swimming (she's a better swimmer than me now!).
Dylan wanted to make something, so he made granola bars (playgroup granola bars) for this week's lunches and snacks. He's getting really good in the kitchen!

Weekend Wrap-Up

On the road again.
Waiting for . . .
Football! (Isn't that a cute tight end?)
Ry (on his own) shared an Air Head with P. {Aaawwwweeee.}
Then they colored when they got bored with the game.
The wind blew and knocked off Rylan's coloring book. Their expressions crack me up!
Like how the coaches are learning each player's names?
I found this pretty salad on Pinterest:
Click {here} for the original Balsamic Green Bean Salad recipe.
Here's how mine looked:
Yeah, so it doesn't LOOK great, but it tasted fabulous. I can't wait to make it again!
~
I put Ry in a Pull-up and sent him to bed for naptime. A little while later I heard, "Momma, I poopin!" I walk upstairs to find this:
Naked boy, dog mask on his head, flossing his teeth and then dancing. And yes, I spared you the pic of his back side.  LOL!
~
I made yummy Zucchini Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins to package up and freeze for the kids lunches.
What? There's one missing? I wonder who would have swiped that??? {Hee
Hee - Hey, I HAD to make sure they were good . . . and they were!}
~
When these 3 get antsy inside, I send them outside to play in the sprinklers and water table.
My heirloom tomatoes! Hopefully these ones won't get hit or picked too early.
Little Miss got some new boots for the fall. When we got home she rushed upstairs and then came down in this:
It was so hot that day, I don't know HOW she put jeans on. And yes, that is her new pose for pics.
~
We had family game night and ate homemade popcorn.
We played Apples to Apples and Aggervation. {I love this man. I married well.}
Oh and P.S. the girls won. Payton won Apples to Apples and I won Aggravation. Woot woot!

Weekend Wrap-Up {Belt Testing & Football}

Saturday morning we all (including Papa & Sasha) got ready for a busy morning for Dylan.
First we went to his Brown Belt Testing (for taekwondo). He was a little nervous at first (see top left photo) but did amazing. He had to perform his forms, show his specific technique (a round kick spinning hook kick), break a board with an elbow smash, and spar with another opponent.
As soon as he was done (we left a little early) we rushed out and headed to a football jamboree.
It is a very quick game just to get all the players ready for season games.
What's wrong Ry?
"I'm mad a momma."
Oh honey . . . this isn't the first time and for SURE won't be the last time.{smile}
~
Papa and Sasha left mid-morning on Sunday. At lunch time we headed to Chick-a-Saw Trace Park for Chris to get in a ride, let the kids play at the playground and for a picnic.
There were a bunch of butterflies around and Dylan had one "trained". Meet Sparky.
He loved Dylan and literally kept coming back to him. He hung out on Dylan for at least a half hour. He let Dylan move him, and even touch his antennae! Dylan was sad that I wouldn't let him bring him home with us.
~
Who's bright idea was it to give this kid a red slushie???
