Midweek Randoms

Ahhh, I love these two and can't believe they are in 4th grade and kindergarten.

And see that thing in Dylan's hand?
It's a recorder.
Dun dun dun duuuunnnnnn.
Gotta love music class!
~
I walked to the market today.

Google Maps said it was 1.4 miles away.
I used Map My Walk and it ended up being 2 miles, so 4 miles round trip.
~
Payton and Rylan were playing in their room.
I walked in to find this.

Payton told him to lay down, so he did.
~
He is such a bruiser.
Notice the mark under his eye?  He fell in the bathtub.

Not to mention the scratch on his nose . . . I'm not sure where that came from.
~
I curled my hair today.

I'm trying to get ready each day since I realize that Chris sees me in cozzies and a ponytail when he leaves for work in the morning AND when he comes home.
When he got home he asked if I was going anywhere.
Guess he really DOES notice!
~
Ry has a new "thing" that he does.
And now we do it along with him too!
~
I caught up on a few more blog posts.  Check them out:

Weekend Wrap Up

Saturday we stopped by Arrington Vineyards.
It was a cold and gloomy day, but the vineyards were still beautiful.
Top Right:  Payton and I swinging on a bench swing.
Bottom Left:  My view from the bench swing.
Bottom Right:  Attempting to get a good picture of the kids {notice the word "attempting"?}
~
Sunday Chris got the kids their first RC Colas.

I posted that pic on FaceBook and found out that to be "Southern" I should have given them a Moon Pie to go with it.
Woops!  Looks like another RC Cola and Moon Pie is in their future!
~
The kids love swinging.

Rylan was in the middle of signing "All done." When I snapped his picture.
~
Papa and Sasha left on Sunday afternoon and the kids were NOT happy.

Goodbyes are always hard.

Thursday & Friday

Thursday my in-laws were coming up to stay for the weekend . . .
So I cleaned up the apartment and then had to take pictures of how good it looked.  =)

If you look closely in the crib, you will see Rylan.

"What's he doing?" you ask?  Oh, just some downward dogs before naptime.

Crazy guy.
~
There is a Race for the Cure coming up this Saturday by Chris' work.
I had to snap a picture of all the cases of water bottles sitting on the side of the road.

They will be sitting there for 2 more days . . . and probably NONE of them will be stolen.
{That would NEVER happen back home in California.}
~
We went to the kids Parent Teacher Conferences and Payton's teacher showed us the FUNNIEST thing ever.
She was telling us that Payton spells phonetically, really well and then showed us this picture she took of one of Payton's papers.

It says "I hear with my ears.  I can hear ______".
Payton wrote "sex".
She called Payton up and asked what she wrote and Payton replied "snakes".
She had phonetically wrote "snex" and forgot the "n".
Makes sense, now right?
And yes, she took a picture to show all of her co-workers and friends.
=)

Friday while the kids were at school and Chris was at work Craig, Sasha, Rylan and I went driving around and looking at different areas then went to Trader Joe's (about 20 minutes away from me).

I was happy to find out that it is HUGE!

It's the biggest Trader Joe's that I have ever been into . . .  Which was a good thing because it was crowded!

Seriously, can he get any more scrumptious?

~
I've seen this trick all over Pinterest, and guess what?  It really works!

Place a wooden spoon over a boiling pot of water and it won't overflow.
It looks like it might, but it doesn't.
This is going to help me out SO much.
~
Rylan LOVED J's Mac & Cheese.

Notice his knees are tucked up to his chest?

Eighteen Months

My little baby boy.
You are SOOO much fun.
Daddy and I say to each other (almost every day), "He is so stinkin' cute!"
You love to laugh and dance.
Both of your top molars came in this month (ugh!).
You finally will go to sleep by yourself in your crib for both naptime and bedtime (yea!).
Every new word we try to get you to say it comes out "Eeewwwweeeeeeeeeeee!"
You say "dat" for that.
You call apples "app".
You started coming up and giving me kisses out of the blue - all on your own.
You are a dada's boy.
You love playing with Dylan and Payton.
When you wake from your nap you head straight to the window to look for their bus.
You know how to work an iphone all by yourself.
I think your pretty amazing.
I love you.

Friends

Its fun to see Dylan (and Payton) make friends so quickly here.

His buddy came over to play and they invited Payton to sit out at the stairwell to play cards.
{I blocked out his friend just in case his parents don't want his face online!}

I did a little catching up on my posts . . . check them out!

I'm Back!

Well, I didn't mean to take a month off from blogging . . .  but I
moved
didn't have internet for a couple of weeks
had my mom out for a week (yea!)
have a teething 18 month old (molars are the worst!)
and am trying to adjust to being a Nashvillian (is that even a word)?
I MAY catch up on old posts, but we will have to wait and see.

So here is where we are living for the next 6 months.
I am very proud of our table and chairs that Chris refinished and recovered.
He rocks.
Because of said teething 18 month old waking up in the middle of the night, I'm tired.
I woke up from a quick afternoon nap today to this.
A sweet picture and a cup of iced tea from Payton.
After dinner we bundled up (because it got really cold, really fast this week), and went to play catch and swing on the swings.

Gigi's Last Day + The Rest of the Week

Monday we woke up bright and early.

Since we had to take Gigi to the airport that evening, we crammed the day full of fun and pictures.
We went on a walk.

Dylan took this picture!

Made Carob Bites.

Payton drew a picture for Gigi to take with her.

Then we headed to McAllister's Deli.
Rylan ordered a lemon slice {grin}.

Me and my sweet girl.

Payton's turn to play photographer.

Then stopped by a pumpkin patch.

And tried to get a good picture of all three kids.

Took Gigi to Gigi's Cupcakes.

Brought them home . . .

And had our taste buds rocked by this awesomeness!

Kentucky Burbon Cupcake & Apple Pie Cupcake.
W-O-W!
~
Gigi gave the kids some fun parting gifts.

And I tried to get a picture of her and the kids.

Then I realized that Rylan wasn't in the pictures.
When it was time to go the kids clung onto her legs and wouldn't let her go.

Again trying to get a picture but this time with Rylan.

Payton was not happy and wouldn't smile.
We made it to the airport.
And had to say goodbye.

We were not happy about that.
I am so grateful that my mom was able to come and stay with us.
I love her dearly and enjoyed the time we had together and can't wait for next time!
~
Here are some random shots of Rylan from this week.

Don't you just love those lips?
I made a batch of Banana Chip Muffins.
And Payton got to go to a birthday party for our neighbor who is also in Payton's class at school!
She had a blast!
