Easter -2013-

Warning:  Picture overload following.
This is Rylan's First Easter!
With him being sick, and Dylan being up in the middle of the night not feeling well, we stayed home from church.
This is the 2nd Easter that I did not go to church in my life.  It was weird!
Rylan wasn't sure what to think when we gave him his Easter basket.

(You can tell he is still sick in this picture.  Poor buddy!)

But the other kids dug into their baskets quickly.

My little bunnies!

I took this while waiting to FaceTime with Papa Nutt & Gigi.

They sent them some fun Easter gifts.

I am SO thankful for technology.  It makes the holidays a little easier!

Rylan still trying to get the hang of opening presents.

He quickly put together his F-16 plane!

We got to watch church on-line (again thankful for technology!).
Then Dylan and Payton helped me make homemade Pita chips.
I love when they work together nicely!

Before we got to the egg hunt, I got them to pose for a quick picture.

And then we took a family photo!

My kids are getting used to my incessant picture taking.

Okay.  Egg hunt time!

See?  They will even pause mid-hunt to flash me a quick smile.

Rylan double fisting his finds.

I decided to show him what was inside . . .

And then he got the hang of it.

They found notes in one of their eggs.

"Now go to Papa & Sasha for final surprise."
A box of magic tricks for Dylan,
Doc McStuffin's notebook & puzzle,
and a stacker toy for Rylan!
Happy Easter from the Lewis Family!

He is risen!

The Past Few Days

I love this little guy - so much.

Payton was super excited about her Easter Egg Hunt at school.

Thursday I had the stomach flu so Rylan and I ate crackers and a grilled cheese sandwich.
He's definitely not a clean eater!

On Friday Dylan had a Furlough Day from school.
Payton had been begging to be "absent" from school and I didn't want to have to wake up early to get her ready so we let her stay home.
I woke up feeling great {Praise God!} and it was a beautiful day so Chris went biking and I took the kids to the park.
I tried to get a picture of all 3 of them.  This is what I got.

Hum.  Will definitely have to try it another day.

We were waiting for daddy to finish up riding, so Rylan got to "drive" the car.
He loves it!

Playing at the park pooped D-Man out!

This is the first time I have ever attempted to french braid my hair.
Yes, I am 34 and have never done it.
Not too bad, right?

I saw this posted on Instagram on Good Friday and though about how true this statement is.

Friday night at midnight, Rylan woke up choking, coughing, hacking and wheezing {again}!
It was very similar to when he first got croup.
I gave him a breathing treatment and prayed over him.
It was a restless night, but {Praise God again!} it didn't get too bad.
He acts like a happy boy but when he coughs he sounds HORRIBLE.
Here he is laughing at Payton.

Oh and I had a clogged duct or a slight case of mastitis today as well.
{When it rains, it pours!}
We were suppose to go to a Egg Hunt at church, but Ry and I couldn't go.
So Chris took Dylan and Payton to the movies instead.
I started to feel better in the afternoon and it was a gorgeous day,
so we went out to play.
Papa was kicking the ball to Ry and he was picking it up.
It was cute!

What I Ate...

Monday - Chicken Fajita Burrito
Tortilla Chips

Tuesday - J's Mac & Cheese
Carrots with Light Ranch
Roasted Zucchini

Wednesday - Mexican Chicken Casserole
Southwestern Corn
Tortilla Chips
This was a "yellow" night!

Friday - Olive Garden Salad
Chicken Ranch Fries with Light Ranch

Saturday - Pizza
Pineapple
Petite Carrots with Light Ranch
It was a night of "P"s.  And yes, I realize that plate makes me look like a pig.  BUT the two slices on the left are thin crust and the pizza roll was just to try.  I've never had them before and now I know why.  Yuck!

Snow

We woke up this morning to actual snow on the rooftops, cars and even a little on the ground.
Yes, it is March 26th . . . and it is cold.
{I thought it was Spring!}

But this warms my heart.
This is what I came home to from dropping the kids off at the bus and at school.

{Yes, in the reflection you can see I AM in my jammies.  I am THAT mom.  And yes, I am saving for my children's therapy when they are older.}

Learning New Things

This morning, Payton informed me that she can tie her shoes all by herself.

Two of her classmates taught her!
I guess there is a shoe tying club in her class and there are 5 students in it.
Remember when I told you Rylan likes to crawl through the shelves?

It poops him out.

His new thing is pulling at his hair when walking . . .

He's crazy.
Payton's been working on a new memory verse Ephesians 4:32:

So proud of her!

This Week

Monday we had a thunder, lightning, and hail storm that came through.

I told Payton to grab her coloring book and color.
This is what she did instead.

Impressive, right?

Rylan does gymnastics to go to bed.
It's cute, but gets old real quick.

He pooped out during my trip to the market.

And then pooped out on Sasha's lap too.

We walked to get Dylan from the bus and he had to stop to play with the grass.
Yes, that brown stuff IS grass.  It is dormant for the winter.

He was so proud of himself.

Craig and Sasha took us to pizza and they ordered garlic knots.
Yum.  I looked as Sasha and said, "I can make these at home."
So a few days later, I did.  At least attempted too.
They weren't very good (too hard on the outside), so I am looking for a better recipe and I WILL perfect them.

Rylan and I got to go to Dylan's school to see their museum.
Each student made a diorama and brochure of a specific habitat in Georgia and it was on display for parents and classmates to see.
There was a LOT of parent time and money spent on these projects.
Dylan chose the Blue Ridge Mountains and did 100% himself of it with items that we already had around the house.
I was pretty proud of him, his creativity and effort.
He got an A+. {smile}

Dylan was very excited that he got to show off his little brother to his friends.

Payton working on her sliding round house kick.

We had the bright idea to go to the mall today.
It was raining so everyone else in the world had the same idea.
It was still fun to walk around.
Rylan loved being able to push his stroller.

He LOVES this dog.
It is supposed to be a pacifier clip, but it is a slobber holder for him.

He climbed up and through this shelf silly boy.

He also learned to sweep.

Chris made . . .

Pizookies = chocolate chip cookie dough baked in a pizza pan (so it is thick and gooey) topped with ice cream.
My hubby rocks.
