Taco Seasoning (make your own by using THIS recipe)
Salsa
Place chicken breasts in a pan (we used frozen). Sprinkle with taco seasoning. Pour salsa over chicken and simmer for 45 minutes (stirring occasionally). When the chicken is cooked thru, shred it and place it back in the sauce.
You could also do this in a slow cooker as well.
I didn't specify any measurements because you could do this for 2 chicken breasts or a bunch of chicken breasts. We used 5 chicken breasts, about 1-1/2 tablespoons taco seasoning and 1/2-3/4 of a jar of Pace salsa.
We ate it in tacos. You could put it in burritos, taco salad, enchiladas, on top of spanish rice or just eat it straight!
This cutie-pie was working hard on his homework.
Remember yesterday I said we made biscuits from a recipe out of a book that Dylan was reading?
Well here is the book.
He finished it.
In TWO DAYS!
He likes to read just like his Papa!
The book also had an alphabet code in the back.
Dylan wrote me a note in the code.
So I wrote him one back!
It rained ALL night (with amazing lightening and thunder).
And it continued to rain ALL day today.
So Payton played dress up with Snowflake.
Dylan built a lego town.
Dylan is reading a book and it had a recipe for biscuits in it.
So we made some of those.
They were really good!
Then at community group tonight, our friend, Jeremy, made these yummy guys...
Ghirardelli Brownies stuffed with a Double Stuffed Oreo.
Holy moley. Yum!
Sunday I hung out in the nursery at church with Rylan. He was not a happy camper.
This was a post on FaceBook. I added this saying to my instruction of the kids this week.
Dylan took 45 minutes to wrap a present for Rylan. It was so cute.
He wanted to try out his tie too.
Waiting for school in the morning.
Dylan had his last day of CRCT testing on Monday. A sweet (and thoughtful) neighbor made cupcakes for all the kids as they got off the bus to celebrate. She made one for Payton too.
Gigi sent the kids these mini kites.
They were really cool and lots of fun (and the kids ran ALOT)!
Rylan got into the toy room at karate class. He looks like a cute little dwarf!
Since he is so mobile, and daring (climbing up on everything) he has a LOT of bangs and bruises.
Poor boy!
Rylan LOVES riding his Beep Beep to get Dylan from the bus.
He also dances ALL the time now:
Even to the beeping of construction trucks!
My handsome big boy!
(I two boys teething at the same time - LOL!)
Wearing green to celebrate Arbor day at school.
And . . . he's at the yelling stage!
Today was my wonderful momma's birthday.
She is an amazing, godly, lady. I couldn't ask for a better woman to call MOM!
I love you mom!
So remember last week I took some girlfriends to Trader Joe's?
Well, Rachel LOVED it and wanted to go back.
So we went back yesterday, this time bringing along Jamie, who had never been there before.
Here's Jamie.
And Kelly.
And Rachel.
Yes, we (okay, Jamie!) asked a lady to take our picture.
Rachel stole Teddy Bear Joe (the mascot) for the photo op.
Sawyer and Jackson were troopers and seemed to have fun themselves!
So 4 ladies, 3 kids, 3 carts (one holding kids), and this is what you get . . .
Not, 1 but 2 carts filled to the brim.
People must have thought we were crazy, but we had a great time.
Afterwards, Kelly, Rachel, Jackson, Rylan and I went to Chick-Fil-A.
This picture cracks me up.
They look like they are saying "What you lookin' at?" to each other!
Hopefully we will continue to do this more often, because it was a blast!
The celebrating started yesterday when we had a little family party.
We had some pizza.
Rylan wasn't really sure what to think of everything.
But with some help, he figured it out just fine.
He loved the wrapping paper.
And his new sippy cups.
He got a water table to play with.
Agh! That kid is SO cute!
I just want to squeeze him!
After presents, it was cake time!
It was his first time having sugar and I think he liked it.
The aftermath.
And the trail he left on the stairs.
He came and got in my lap too.
Cake was EVERY-WHERE!
The it was time for a stroll in the new car he got from Papa and Sasha.
He thought he was such a big boy.
Weird to think that just one short year ago, I was at the hospital, in labor!
Then today. His actual birthday . . .
Playing in Sistee's room this morning.
Then going to his well check!
20 lbs 10 oz
29.25" long
Waiting to see the doctor.
Dr. Lehan checking him out.
She's a fan-tastic doctor.
While we were out today, he had his first sippy cup of milk.
We got to FaceTime Papa Nutt and Gigi to open more presents.
Did I mention that he didn't have his second nap today? And he had shots?
He was one tired (and unhappy) baby.
Me and my ONE YEAR OLD!
And then, all my little blessings!
Then he crashed out.
I think he had a great birthday!
I love you Rylan, so much. I can't believe that you are one.
Your infectious smile and laugh get me every time.
I love when you play with my hair or shove my face to the side to play with my earrings.
I love the way your eyes sparkle when you smile.
You LOVE your brother and sister.
You are such a Daddy's boy and say "Dada" all the time.
Your a Mommy's boy when you are tired or hungry.
You practically run every where.
You love climbing up on Payton's bed and wait for me to come and find you.
Then you throw yourself down on the bed giggling with delight.
My biggest prayer is that you choose to follow the Lord every day of your life. That you will love him with all your heart. That you will have a passion for him that is evident to everyone around you. That you will see people through Jesus' eyes.
I love you baby boy.
