Last Day of 2012

Happy Last Day of 2012!

Best day of 2012:  April 22, when Rylan joined (and completed) our family.

I totally failed on my New Years Resolution this year.  I am back on September 12th for my daily reading.  BUT I am not giving up, I will continue to read until I have completed reading the Bible in chronological order.
I think I will skip making a resolution for 2013!  {smile}

Game Day

What do you do all days when you have a sick kid?
Have a game day!
First we played Monoploy.

Some of the rules have changed since Chris and I were kids.
At least we think they did.
Free parking is an empty space.  You don't get all the penalty monies anymore.
Then they have a mortgage option that Chris and I don't remember.
Maybe we didn't play it right when we were little!
We still had fun though.

Then since we have been stuck indoors for what seems like forever, we headed to Del Taco for lunch.
Little man slept.  And looks so peaceful!

He had his first Del Taco and loved it!

Then it was back home for Candyland!

Poor Baby

So Rylan took a turn for the worse today.
We took him back to the doctor and are glad that we did!
He's on:
antibiotics for a double ear infection
tylenol suppositories because he keeps throwing up his medicine
pedialite because of his diarrhea
breathing treatment because of his wheezing

It is so sad.  But I am glad we got him in before the weekend!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my 34th birthday.
Ouch.  I'm in my mid-thirties.
Wow.
Anyway I spent today snuggling with this sick little boy.

He got a fever {again} on Christmas morning and has been getting worse.
I took him into the doctors yesterday to see if we are missing something (since he's been sick for over a month and a half)

He's fine . . . He just got another cold.

I did get some entertainment though.

This is one of my favorite pictures.

Yes, I did have a VERY good birthday.

Paperclip Earrings

I came across this cute (and easy!) idea on Pinterest by Evie S.
..
I thought it would be fun make some to send to my sisters for Christmas. I had paper clips and earring hooks on hand already and I was sure I could find some string somewhere.
I found and tried a piece of yarn but didn't like how it turned out. Then I found some old embroidery thread and that worked great - but I didn't care for the colors that I had, so I went to Michael's and got some blue-ish and yellow-ish embroidery thread. Here's how they turned out:

I just cut a small piece of cardboard, poked holes in it and wrote "made by me with Heavy black heart" to hold the earrings.

I know it wasn't fancy by any stretch of the imagination, but it worked.
These weren't expensive (obviously) and weren't time consuming...but were a small gift to show my sisters that I was thinking about them (and love and miss them).

Merry CHRISTmas 2012!

The kids woke up so excited.

And even cooperated with me so I could take pictures.

I love watching kids open presents.
They have the greatest expressions!

My favorite are the middle left and bottom left pictures.
After they opened our presents, they went downstairs . . .

So see what presents Santa left!
A guitar for Payton.

And a bow and arrow for Dylan.

They must have been really good this year!

Daddy got to open the presents that Payton made us at school.

Then Dylan got to open his HUGE present from Papa and Sasha.
He had been guessing for days as to what it was.
He ripped off the paper and saw a high chair box!
It that box he found a smaller box.
In that box was an even smaller box.
Till he found the tiniest of all presents.
But sometimes awesome things come in small packages . . .
An iPod Shuffle!
Payton got her own karaoke machine.
Yup - she loved it!
Then (yes, we did things a bit backward this year) they saw that Santa and his reindeer DID stop by the house.
Rylan checking out his Jumparoo.
Breakfast was yummy.
My sister, Davese, made these a few Christmas's ago and we have made them every year since.
The kids got to FaceTime with Papa Nutt and Gigi to open presents with them.
And then with their cousins to open even more!

Spoiled?  Yup, I think so.
I didn't get any pictures of Jesus' birthday cake (only video of the kids singing Happy Birthday).
I missed my family in California and Colorado a lot today.  But I am SO thankful for FaceTime.  It makes it seem like we are *almost* there together.

Hope you had a wonderful day celebrating the birth of our Savior!

Christmas Eve

I can't believe Christmas Eve is already here.
We got to go visit Santa's house with the Sampsell Family tonight.
(Yes, he lives in Canton, GA...you didn't know?)
We got there a little early and were the first ones in line.

The house was decked out with Christmas decorations.  Every inch of the 2 bedroom house was covered, even the yard.

They got a picture with Mrs. Clause.

And of course Santa Clause.

There was too much to see so Dylan bailed as soon as the picture was taken, but Payton stayed and spent a long time talking with Santa.  He was so sweet.

Ethan and Lauren's turn!

The girls were so cute together.

Jeremy snapped this great family photo for us.

And caught Rylan staring at all the lights.

When we got home, it was time for the annual tradition of opening one present.

I'm not sure how long it will take for this kids to realize that it will always be new pajamas.  {smile}

Rylan got to open a present too.

It took him awhile to figure it out.

He even tried to climb on top of the box.
Monkey jammies for my monkey boy!
Chris also let the kids open the presents they got each other.
I love when they are lovin' on "their chauthers" (each others) as Payton says.
Ry loved his teether toy.
Of course the night wouldn't be complete without laying out cookies and milk for Santa and a carrot for his reindeer.
Merry Christmas Eve!
