A Dog's Tale....

Remember when I said that Bombi wasn't feeling well last week? Well we were keeping a close eye on him because he was not eating/drinking or going to the bathroom (what's the polite way to say that for a dog???  Hahaha!) at ALL.  Friday night he woke me up a few times to be let outside, so Saturday night I decided to sleep on the couch with him on the floor.  Let me tell you, it was horrible. He cried, like literally cried all night long and kept wanting outside and then back in. So we decided to take him to the vet...on a Sunday (and let me tell you, an emergency appointment on a Sunday is NOT cheap).  The kids gave him lots of love before we left.
They took x-rays and saw that he was backed up but there was no reason for it.  After looking at our options, including an obscene dollar amount exploratory surgery that the doctor recommended (!!!) she gave us the option to do a dye test.  They would give him some dye and let him wait (there) for 4-6 hours, then re-x-ray him to see where the blockage was.  It was a LOT more reasonable so we went with that option and said our tearful goodbyes.
Waiting all day was agonizing, and when we got the call, it was not good news.  The test was inconclusive.  They said that they could give us medicine to make him more comfortable and we could take him home.  So we all went to pick him up.  We had to wait awhile because they were giving him fluids (similar to an IV bag).  When they brought him to us, he was SO excited and happy to see us all.  He had more energy than he had had in days.  On the way home he even stuck his head outside the window.
When we got home he went directly to his place where we had previously given him 8 treats (trying to get him to eat) which he gobbled up.  Then went straight to his water bowl and drank and drank and drank and drank.
THEN he scratched to go outside and immediately went to the restroom where I saw him POOP A BOUNCY BALL! (Sorry there is not a nicer way to say it.). I was shocked.
His energy is way better, and he is eating and drinking as normal.
We are SOOOOO happy even though we spent a bunch of money on a stupid bouncy ball (ha)!
