Last year the kids woke us up at 4:30 in the morning...so yesterday we asked them to at least wait until 6 am. And guess what? They DID! We woke up on our own at 6 am...it was wonderful! Dylan had been up earlier but stayed in his room reading a book {which had to have been SO HARD!}.
He went in and woke up the Littles.
They saw that Santa had come.
Gigi got there and we started opening presents.
We were all getting hungry so we ate breakfast. I made Easy Broccoli Quiche
and Petite Caramel Pecan Rolls. They look like this coming out of the oven...
Then you flip them over so they look like this all covered in yummy gooey goodness:
Wasn't the sky beautiful?!?!
Then it was back to gift opening.
The kids had bought gifts for each other with their own money.
It was so sweet to watch them give and open them.
Their reactions to all their gifts was priceless.
Bombi got to open a box of dog treats and a new rope and he was amped up!
When all was said and done, they dug right into their gifts. Payton got an outfit and a matching outfit for her doll.
Dylan put together a Da Vinci Clock kit.
And Rylan busted out a Lego set.
Bombi LOVED his new rope.
So glad my momma was here to celebrate with us! We hung around for a few hours...
and then Gigi headed home.
Right before bed, a friend texted about them keeping on the tradition of my dads. He would fill our mouths full of whipped cream and on some Christmases we would have a full can of whipped cream in our stocking! I can't believe I had forgotten, so I called the kids in and remedied that quickly.
All ready for bed and my boys are Chewbacca twinsies!
Merry Christmas from the Lewis Family! We hope this new year brings many blessings in your life!
