I finished my first book of 2016! Last year I made a goal to read 12 books during the year and I ended up reading 20...not to shabby for this "not a big reader girl". I think I'm going to try for 18 books this year. Last year, we were moving and we had a couple of months of the house packed up and waiting for the house to close...so we had a bunch of downtime, which I don't foresee for this year. So what was my first book???
My favorite fiction book ever is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I've read it a few times and cry each time {it's a good cry...promise!}. A friend recommended another book by Francine, "And the Shofar Blew", which I reviewed {here}, to which a reader left a comment recommending Bridge to Haven, again by Francine Rivers. It took me a few months to get around to reading it and I wish I had read it sooner. But, to be honest, about a chapter into it, I told Chris that I didn't like the story line...but I kept reading and I'm SO glad that I did. It was so very good. Similar to Redeeming Love, you had to get through a tough chapter or 2 to really understand what the character went through and what molded her life.
I finished the last 3/4ths of the book over the last 2 days!
I give the book 5 stars!
